In 1992 schreef Legs Boelen de publicatie ‘Art in Prison’ over kunstwerken van jonge gedetineerden. Vier jaar later beleefde het boekje wegens enorme belangstelling, een herdruk. Voor het eerst had iemand dit soort geïsoleerd ontstane kunst in Nederland naar buiten gebracht. Zelfs het NOS journaal besteedde er aandacht aan. Ik vond het tijd om nader kennis te maken met de auteur van deze uitzonderlijke publicatie en conservator van een collectie gevangeniskunst. |
