Description: This is a group for ex inmates, ex -offenders, parolee's, AND ANYONE who has been emotionally affected by prison and its after math. It is to be used as a support system, and resource network, and to offer help to anyone who needs or wants it. The main goal of this group is to offer support to those who are having a difficult time adjusting to the outside. And a harder time, getting used to it. We have spent so much time in jail, and in there it moved slowly, but outside time went by faster than a speeding bullet, and the adjustment is maddening:Nightmares, panic Attacks, Fear of Leaving the House. All of which I personally have been through, and the secrets that plague us at night that we can not tell anyone about. For fear of being labeled nutcase. Except here. Here we are free to speak out about our nightmares our fears our regrets, and even some of the joys. Even about the friends that we left behind. Here no one will criticizes us, and that gives us the freedom to deal with , and let go of the things that haunt our dreams. For me I not only loath the sound of keys, but expect a guard behind every one I hear. I am always waiting. For what? I don't know. Head count chow, rec,...Who knows. But that is the crazy part I cant tell people about. Except here. I am free to let it all hang out, and so are you, because this is our group. Make it what you want. But be respectful towards each other, we've all hard a hard go at life.
