Family Inmate Transport Service ("FITS")
WELCOME to Family Inmate Transport Service ("FITS")!!!  FITS provides affordable, safe, and reliable transportation to families and loved ones of the men and women incarcerated in South Carolina prisons.

To reserve a seat, call 864.269.8220 or e-mail familytransportservice@yahoo.com.  We will contact you a week in advance to inform you of the time and place of the bus/van departure.

THE BUS/VAN TRIP
FITS will provide water for the trip. You are welcome to bring a snack/food for the trip. Depending on the length of the trip, buses/vans may stop for dinner on the return trip, so please bring money if you wish to purchase food.
NO ALCOHOL, DRUGS, or WEAPONS ALLOWED. The bus/van will leave promptly from the departure location, so do not be late! A hospitality hostess will accompany each bus trip to help in any way to ensure you have a safe trip and an enjoyable visit with your family member or friend.

MONEY
You are welcome to bring money for the vending machines inside the prison. The maximum you can bring is $15 per adult (NO BILLS OVER $10). We recommend bringing one-dollar bills and quarters to avoid change machine lines.  Any other money can be sealed in envelope and left with bus/van hostess.

PRISON VISITING GUIDELINES
FITS has listed some of the most important rules to follow.  To find out about additional rules, including who can visit, dress codes, and what you can bring into the prison, please visit the SCDOC website link or call the prison visitor information line at each individual facility. We are all suject to prison visiting guidelines.

IMPORTANT:
Registering for transportation with Family Inmate Transport Service is NOT THE SAME as becoming an approved visitor. You must complete the required SCDOC paperwork.   Each inmate is provided with "Request for Visiting Privileges" forms (SCDC Form 19-127) to send to his/her prospective visitors.  The only way for an individual to receive a Visiting Privileges Form is from the inmate who wants them to visit. To become an approved visitor you must complete a SCDC Form 19-127. Every individual must complete this form and forward it to the Central Visitation Center for processing.  The form is reviewed by CVC staff and the information is entered into the automated system.  If the form is missing any required information, the form is returned to the sender for proper completion.

Once the application form has been properly completed, submitted, and approved, the individual is added to the inmate's visiting list.  An inmate is provided a copy of his approved visiting list once a week if a change is made during that week. IT IS THE INMATE'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ADVISE HIS/HER VISITOR(S) OF THEIR APPROVAL.  The inmate you wish to visit will let you know if you are approved. Please be sure that you are a approved before you make the trip to the correction facility. If you are not approved, there is nothing we can do to get you inside the prison to visit.
